Terms
A deposit of $1500 (US) is required on all orders to secure
a place in the building schedule. This deposit is refundable at
the discretion of Eichelbaum Guitars minus a processing fee of $750.
If the order is canceled after construction has begun (including
acquiring and processing materials) then the entire deposit will
be forfeited. Guitars ordered with certain wood options such as
Brazilian Rosewood and/or custom details or inlays may require a
larger deposit and be subject to exception any refund or the standard
3-day acceptance period. For example, if you commission me to build
a guitar with three necks then I might have a tough time taking
that back and reselling it.
Once your order is placed you may change any of the actual
specifications or details, including the model, until approximately
three months prior to the start of construction. Exceptions would
include situations where special request woods may have already
been obtained on behalf of the customer or where custom inlays have
already been completed.
All Guitars are shipped via Fed Ex Overnight Service at
the expense of the purchaser unless other arrangements are made
in advance. Overnight service is the best way to avoid shipping
damages.
Warranty Information
Each guitar is warranted to the original owner against
defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the guitar is
owned and I am actively building. Not included are: normal fret/fingerboard
wear, finish damage from moisture (including perspiration) or general
damage caused by improper climate conditions including, but not
limited to, cracks & finish checking, exposed fret ends, swollen
or sunken tops, and other damage which is the result of improper
care. The Warranty is not transferable in the course of resale unless
other arrangements are made in advance through Eichelbaum Guitars.
Shipping charges are not usually covered in the event a guitar is
returned for Warranty work. If you have a concern which you feel
may be covered please call to discuss the best course of action.
Warranty/Restoration Work on Other Instruments
I continue to maintain my certification to perform Warranty
Repairs on Martin instruments. Please note that I try to limit the
work I take in to larger jobs such as neck resets and major reconstruction
or restoration. I am accepting jobs only on vintage Martin, Gibson,
and Fender instruments. Please consult a local store for general
setup work and basic repairs.
